Actor Vishal’s mother had not expected the rude shock that awaited her when she went for shopping. Janaki Devi was in a textile store, near Ohri, in Basheerbagh, Hyderabad where the incident happened. Her handbag went missing when she was selecting sarees from Dharmavaram silk saris shop, on 15th June, Monday.

The Saifabad police said that Janaki Devi had kept her handbag on the floor while going through the sarees. She found her handbag missing when she searched for it to pay the bills. It said to be contained Rs. 60,000 of cash and Rs. 30 lakh worth diamond-studded jewellery.

The shop was not equipped with any security cameras that only aided the culprit to escape unnoticed. Also any stranger from outside could have noticed the bag on floor as the shop is just five metres off the main road and can be easily seen through from the road, as said by the police.

Janaki Devi had come to Hyderabad to attend the engagement of Director Kodi Ramakrishna’s daughter on 14th June, Sunday.
